Privacy Policy
We hold very little, because the service needs very little. There is nothing to upload here and your laundry habits are not training data.
Effective date 2026-09-05
1. Who is responsible for your data
The company that operates Enoughpairs at londonsockcomp.shop is the data controller. Its full legal name, registration details and registered address are on the legal information page. Write to support@londonsockcomp.shop about anything on this page.
2. What we collect
| Nothing at all | If you use the calculator without an account, your inputs stay in your browser. The arithmetic runs on your device. Nothing about your loop is sent to us. |
|---|---|
| Account data | Email address, a hashed password, and a display name if you set one. |
| Saved profiles | The wash frequency, wear pattern, drying method and household size you choose to save, plus the results calculated from them. |
| Text you type into the reader | If you describe your week in a sentence rather than using the controls, that sentence is sent to a language model to be turned into parameters, and is then discarded. See section 5. |
| Billing data | Handled by the payment provider configured for this site. We receive a subscription status, the last four digits of the card and the billing country. We never see or store a full card number. |
| Technical data | IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, error logs. |
| Images | None. The service accepts no images. There is no upload control anywhere on the site and no facility to send us a photograph. |
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To provide the service and your account — performance of our contract with you.
- To take payment and keep billing records — performance of the contract, and our legal obligation to keep tax records.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest in a service that works and is not attacked.
- To email you about your account, including renewal reminders — performance of the contract, and in the case of renewal reminders a step we take voluntarily ahead of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 coming into force.
- Measurement and marketing cookies — your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time on the cookie page.
4. We do not sell your data
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. If you are in California, that means there is nothing to opt out of, but we honour Global Privacy Control signals regardless.
5. Model training
Your laundry habits, saved profiles and results are not used to train any model, ours or anyone else’s.
A language model is used for one narrow purpose: turning a sentence you type into numeric parameters. That sentence is sent to the model provider configured for this site, processed, and not retained by us beyond the request. We instruct providers not to retain or train on it. The arithmetic itself never leaves your browser.
We do use aggregate, non-identifying signals — error rates, how often a feature is reached, response times — to keep the service working. Those cannot be traced back to a person.
6. Who else sees it
- Our hosting and database providers, to run the service.
- The payment provider configured for this site, to take payment.
- The email provider we use for account and renewal messages.
- The model provider configured for this site, for the sentence-reading step only.
- Anyone we are legally required to disclose to.
Each is bound by a contract that limits them to acting on our instructions.
7. International transfers
Some of those providers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data leaves the UK we rely on either UK adequacy regulations, or the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with a transfer risk assessment. Ask us at support@londonsockcomp.shop and we will tell you which applies to a given provider.
8. How long we keep things
| Account data | Until you delete the account, then removed within 30 days. |
|---|---|
| Saved profiles and results | Until you delete them, or until the account is deleted. Deletion is immediate in the interface and completed in backups within 30 days. |
| Sentences sent to the reader | Not retained after the request completes. |
| Billing records | Six years after the end of the accounting period, as UK tax law requires. |
| Technical logs | 90 days. |
To delete everything: open your account settings and use Delete account, or email support@londonsockcomp.shop and we will do it within 30 days.
9. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to be informed, of access, to rectification, to erasure, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and not to be subject to solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We make no such automated decisions.
Email support@londonsockcomp.shop to exercise any of them. We respond within one month and there is no charge.
If you are in the EEA the GDPR gives you equivalent rights; if you are in California the CCPA gives you rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing.
10. Complaining to the regulator
You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection.
ICO helpline 0303 123 1113 · ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
We would rather hear from you first at support@londonsockcomp.shop, but you do not have to come to us before going to the ICO.
11. Children
The service is not intended for under-13s. Between 13 and 17 you need a parent or guardian to agree on your behalf, and billing requires an adult. If we learn we hold data on a child under 13 we delete it.
12. Security
Passwords are hashed and never stored in readable form. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it. We will tell you and the ICO about a breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, within the statutory 72 hours.
13. Changes
We will tell registered users by email at least 14 days before a material change to this policy takes effect.
